Natural born killers

Are people born to be killers?

I firstly want to say that I'm not writing because I think I'm totally correct but would like to argue my side. I feel that people are born to choose and I agree with the philosopher Sartre who said that we always have chooses and options and those who choose to be killers its because they choose to be. Off course you have to take into account people childhoods and psychological histories, but I still believe people make these chooses, like the West's.

Legalizing cannabis

In RESPONSE to Emma's Blog.
Emma's Blogs5th response

I feel that Emma's log on legalizing cannabis is slightly controversial and not thought through. My own opinion is that cannabis should not be legalized due to the natural progression that people take to rebel. I'm saying that if cannabis is legal then people will automatically move onto harder drugs like ecstasy etc. Yes I'm saying that mainly people start and continue smoking drugs like cannabis because their is that risk of getting caught, and I don't think its just a young persons point of view.

How can you say that about Robin Hood. He his a hero and a symbol for society. You cant relate someone thieving a phone to Robin Hood. Robin Hood is known for giving to the poor and only taking from the filthy rich who didn't pay taxes which gave Nottingham a balance.
Abortion

In RESPONSE to the Great One Zack and his blog.
the Great One3rd response

I agree totally with his blog on abortion. I feel people should take more responsibility for their actions and not to use abortion as a type of contraceptive which can be flushed away just because its inconvenient and unwanted. I'm sure if people were to see these photo's they would never even think of abortion.

Drug abuse

I have a friend who I have known for a number of years and only the other day I found out that he had been taking drugs for about two years. Which shows me how much drug taking goes on without us even knowing.
He said that his behavior changes was due to the amount he was drinking, but he soon figured out that it was the drugs.

Sexuality

I have been brought up in a Roman Catholic Home, and sexuality is laid out very clearly, to say that men are born to be with women and women are born to be with men as partners and marriage is a desirable partnership. I personally do feel that any other partnership is unnatural and should not be allowed, and I do not agree with gay rights.

Under age pregnancy

Is an epidemic in contemporary society especially in and around the country. The United Kingdom has the highest percentage of teenage pregnancies, in Europe.

I live in Birmingham and I went to school in an area called Chemlsey Wood. The area is majority council estates and nearly all the houses are filled with single young mothers all with different stories.

Alcoholism

I can talk about this subject very personally due to the fact that my father is an alcoholic. I have found that it is not always something that can be just stopped. It is mainly psychological and only until these problems are resolved can the alcohol disease be ceased.

Bad Cinema

In RESPONSE to Katie's log on bad cinema.
Katie's blog2nd response

I am sorry to say that I disagree with Katie's opinion on the film. My opinion is that in countries like America these type of events do happen and also happen in England maybe not to the degree to the States but still occurring. I thought that the film was created for parents and was very eye opening film, and I feel that it would be good for parents to see to show what kids do get up to. I remember when I was that age friends were smoking cannabis and having many sexual relationships.

Truancy

After my days at school, I am happy to say that I never wagged school, but I feel that truancy is on the increase due to the confidence young people have, and the ability to rebel. I remember a girl in my tutor group at school, who was a big rebellion and very confident. And every day she would go off at lunch for a fag and not return until the end of day and then get signed out. Some may laugh and think I remember doing that, and again I can say my record is clean.

Racism

I feel that we now live in a multi-racial country, and that one would think and hope that racism would be none existent. But most of us know that this is still untrue especially in urban areas.

I remember watching a documentary about how black people still find it hard to get into the film industry and that the ones that are in the industry, are a particular shade of black. Even in politics there are very few different races. Which I find strange, being that the majority of the country is multi-racial.

Football Hooligans

Over the past 10 - 15 years, football violence has increased dramatically and has changed the sport from being a family day out to a heavily controlled sport event which is now surrounded by police surveillance, due to the amount of hooliganism. Good friends of mine are big Villa Supporters and attend every match. By just talking to them I see how they are changing from normal blokes to violent, drug taking short fused people. This has purely come from football.

Lies

In RESPONSE to Miss Naughty and her log on lies.
miss naughty1st response

I would agree with her assessment of her parents motives, in wanting to protect her from the news of the death of her rabbit. It is always hard to distinguish if our parents motives are always right. It is hard to say if parents should protect their kids from the harsh reality of death. Furthermore it is a common argument; that parents shouldn't lie to their kids due to the fact, the kids will see and learn that it is ok to lie. I feel it shows this argument well with Katie's blog. She wrote like she felt happy to lie.
Tattoos and body piercing.

My first opinion on tattoos, is that they give people a sense of indenting which I say personally due to the fact I have spent up to 280 pounds on tattoos which I am still very happy with. I feel a great feeling of uniqueness and independence. It is a piece of art which people can feel very united with.

Smoking
My personal opinion on why people smoke is through boredom, this would explain to a certain degree why people become social smokers mainly in pubs, they feel anxious and uncomfortable and need something to occupy there minds and bodies, because they have not to much to say or maybe its a protective barrier. Either way its something to ease their anxiety.

Masturbation

The main issue that interested me the most was the diversity of how the subject of masturbation has changed from the 19th Century to the present day. And also how society finds it embarrassing to discuss, but I find in contemporary society there are wide groups/societies that engage in many types of masturbation and sexual acts. I.e. Only last week I was invited to a fetish party which I declined but still asked my friend how it was, to which she replied, "Very good, but have many bruises!". My point being, society has changed from condemnation to positive development for both female and male masturbation. It has also been found that it is essential for males to masturbate, otherwise sexual withdrawal will proceed and psychological problems will occur.

Infidelity

The group didn't define the meaning of infidelity and were confused when asked if they thought that certain situations were underlined as being unfaithful.

My thought's are that, if you are in a 'relationship' with someone then you morally lay down unspoken trust. If in anyway you soil this bond then you are breaking those moral rules of the relationship. Even non-physical flirting or affair with the same sex; you are still breaking that trust.

Reasons why people behave badly.

The lecture with Kevin Magill on the 15th October 2003 was all about the REASONS WHY PEOPLE BEHAVE BADLY. The class was asked to write down the worst thing that they had ever done.

It occurred to me that some students had either very disturbed minds or they had a lot of anger to get out.

Therefore, I thought that maybe that is why society has so many mental unstable people. If society is not able to deal with their problems or gain help, therefore society will always have problems.

Certain types of people do not consider the effect of the bad things that they are doing, subsequently their is no surprise in the amount of bad behavior, in contemporary society.
